Pickering, Leesville win again

PICKERING — The Pickering Lady Red Devils are officially on a roll,

The Lady Red Devils (5-7) won for the fourth time in five games on Tuesday night, using a huge effort during the middle of the contest to down the Hackberry Lady Mustangs in non-district basketball action, 51-18.

Pickering owned a slim lead at the end of the first eight minutes of play, but came to life offensively to open up a 27-9 advantage at the halftime intermission.

The Lady Red Devils really began to pull away during the third period, using a 20-6 surge to build a 47-15 cushion going into the final frame of regulation.

Neither team really got things going in the fourth as Pickering cruised to the win.

Arianna Yates led Pickering with 17 points, while Alayna Yates and Alexus Hood added 10 and nine points, respectively.

No player from Hackberry reached double figures.

Many LadyTigers…..53 

MANY — The Leesville Lady Cats pulled away in the second half to win for the fifth time this season, downing the homestanding Many Lady Tigers on Tuesday night, 62-53.

After holding a slim lead at the halftime break, 24-22, the Lady Cats used a 38-31 scoring advantage over the final 16 minutes of action to claim the big road win.

Shyann McCummings poured in a season-high 27 points to lead the Lady Cats, while Amaya Thomas contributed 17 points.

Kayk McElroy led the way for Many with 19 points.

Evans Lady Eagles….67

Pitkin Lady Tigers….46 

EVANS — The trio of Riley Haus, Triniti Bridges and Madi Gollihugh combined for 50 points in leading the Evans Lady Eagles to a 67-46 triumph over the Pitkin Lady Tigers on Tuesday.

Haus scored 27 points to lead the way for Evans (11-6), while Bridges and Gollihugh added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

No scorers were reported for Pitkin (5-12).
