Special to the Leesville Leader

The Cenla Medication Access Program’s Cancer Screening Mobile Unit will visit Vernon Parish March 19-20 to offer free breast, colorectal and cervical cancer screenings for eligible Central Louisiana residents.

The unit will be located in the parking lot of the Outpatient Medical Center at 908 South 10th St. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Services include mammograms, cervical screenings and take-home colorectal cancer kits. Appointments are required.

Annual mammograms are recommended for women ages 40-64, cervical screenings are scheduled every other year for women ages 25-64, and colorectal screenings for men and women ages 45-64. Residents should contact the Cancer Screening Project to see if they qualify; the uninsured and Medicaid accepted.
