Laveyah Mychael Hyland was born at 1:32 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2024, to parents Adam and Hope Hyland and three proud siblings, Alli, Morgan and Kacetyn. Laveyah weighed 6 lbs and 8 oz and was 19 inches long. She was the first baby born in Vernon or Beauregard Parish for 2024, which is special to her family as she shares this title with her grandfather, Luke Walley Sr., the first New Year’s baby of 1951.

At birth, Laveyah was transported to the amazing staff of Cabrini’s Women and Children’s special NICU due to breathing complications and fluid on her lungs. Three days after the c-section delivery, the Hylands were finally united with Laveyah at Cabrini. After much support and many prayers, Laveyah was sent home after 5 days to be with her family. She is starting the new year happy and healthy.
