SIMPSON — Time and time again, Simpson’s Ean Allain has proven to be a valuable runner for the Broncos.

Not only did he claim the top spot in the Class C State Cross Country Meet in Natchitoches back in November of 2021, Allain won three gold medals at the State Track and Field Championships in Baton Rouge back in early May

As a result, Allain has been selected as the Most Outstanding Performer on the BWS Sports all-Vernon Parish Track and Field team.

Allain finished first in three races at the state meet earlier this month, capturing gold in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs, while also bringing home a fourth-place showing in another event, racking up a total of 34 points. As a result, he won Outstanding Male Performer at the Class C state meet, leading the Broncos to a sold showing in the team standings.

Teammates Marshall Yates and Braxton Basco, who each medaled at the state meet, join Allain on the team.

Rounding out the boys’ all-parish track and field squad were the Anacoco duo of Brayden Prichard and Kaleb Goodwin, the Evans tandem of Brentley Jeane and Caleb Williams, Hicks standout Connor Harper, the Hornbeck quartet of Parker Alexander, Jaren Mitcham, Adam Rhodes and JoJo Weeks, Leesville freshman Keeton Johnson, Pitkin’s Gage Thompson and Rosepine distance runner Sullivan Hanna.
