Frey leads Rosepine to win; Hicks, Anacoco win by shutout

DEQUINCY — LSU signee Ethan Frey was at it again on Monday.

The senior Rosepine catcher blasted three home runs in a game for the second time this season, leading the Eagles to an 11-2 win over the DeQuincy Tigers on Monday.

Earlier this season against Leesville, Frey belted three homers in a huge victory in tournament play. This trio of homers came in a district game and proved to be rather important as the Eagles and Tigers were tied at 2-2 after four innings.

Rosepine scored nine times over the final two innings, also getting a homer from Dalton Keel en route to the win.

Braden Trull earned the win on the mound, garnering the complete game. He gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. He also had three hits offensively.

Jake Smith added three hits, while Frey drove in four runs. Grant Ducote and Logan Calcote each had two hits.

HICKS — Aiden Coffman fired a two-hitter on Monday, leading the Hicks Pirates to a 2-0 victory over the Florien Blackcats.

Bryson Rachal and Connor Helton each had a hit as Coffman fanned nine Florien batters and walked none.

HORNBECK — Kyle Scott worked 6.2 strong innings as the Anacoco Indians downed the Hornbeck Hornets on Monday, 4-0.

Scott struck out 12 Hirnbeck batters in the win, while also delivering an RBI-double. Xxavier Matthews added a double in the contest.

Parker Alexander had a double for the Hornets, while Jaren Mitcham suffered the loss on the mound.

Oak Hill….8

PITKIN — The Pitkin Tigers got four hits from Hunner Perkins as Cullen Martin worked four innings as the Tigers downed Oak Hill, 15-8.

Isaac Longino added a double and four RBIs for the Tigers in the victory.

In other recent action, Pickering fell to Kinder, 17-1, and the Evans Eagles lost to Merryville, 11-3.
