Lady Tigers down Pickering; Hornbeck, Anacoco victorious

PITKIN — Abby Robinson and Tucker Perkins were simply unstoppable last Friday night.

The duo combined for 46 points as they guided the Lady Tigers to a 62-41 win over the Pickering Lady Red Devils.

The Lady Tigers raced out to a 16-4 lead after the first eight minutes of play and put together a 24-6 surge in the second period to build a 40-10 cushion at the intermission.

Pickering managed to find its offense in the third quarter, using a 17-8 run to close the gap to 48-27 heading into the fourth period. However, it wouldn’t be quite enough as the Lady Tigers held on for the 21-point win.

Robinson led the Lady Tigers with 24 points, while Perkins added 22 points in the win.

Alexus Hood paced Pickering with 18 points, while Ariana Yates notched 14 points.

HORNBECK — The Hornbeck Lady Hornets snapped a four-game losing streak on Friday with a 64-14 triumph over the North DeSoto Lady Griffins in non-district play.

Hornbeck got a game-high 17 points from senior Hannah Dahlhoff, while Jayda James finished with 14 points. Hannah Mitchell chipped in with 13 points for the Lady Hornets.

MOSS BLUFF — The Anacoco Lady Indians had little trouble disposing of Class 4A LaGrange at the Sam Houston Tournament last weekend, beating the Lady Gators, 41-26.

Brooklyn Bryant led the Lady Indians with 15 points, while Bailey Davis contributed 13 points in the winning effort.

ALEXANDRIA — The Hicks Lady Pirates showed why they are the three-time defending state champions last weekend as the pummeled the homestanding Menard Lady Eagles, 70-33.

Lauren Quinn guided the Lady Pirates to victory with 23 points, while Shyanne Phillips added 16 points.

EVANS — Jade Bonner led four Evans players in double figures as they decimated University Academy last weekend, 78-38.

Bonner paced the Lady Eagles with 19 points, while Riley Haus finished with 15 points. Madi Gollihugh chipped in with 13 points and Triniti Bridges added 11 points.
