LEESVILLE – The Leesville Lady Cats found their way into the winning column for the first time this season on Tuesday.

And they followed it up with another one on Wednesday.

The Lady Cats swept past the Opelousas Lady Tigers on Tuesday for their first win before taking a 5-set thriller from the Lady Trailblazers of Lake Charles College Prep on Friday.

Players such as Madison Joiner, Shyann McCummings and Emily Willis sparked Leesville to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-16 victory on Tuesday over Opelousas.

On Wednesday, the Lady Cats faced an opponent who just wouldn't give up. After Leesville took Game 3, 25-12, to take a 2-1 lead, LCCP rallied for a 25-20 win in the fourth to take the match to a deciding set.

Leesville won the fifth game, 15-10, to claim the victory.

The Lady Cats played LaGrange on Thursday night, but no report was submitted.
