SIMPSON – Although they got off to a slow start, the second-seeded Simpson Broncos are moving on.

Ethan Nash fanned a dozen batters on Thursday to lead the Broncos to an 8-3 win over the South Cameron Tarpons in the Class C playoffs.

The Broncos will face Harrisonburg next week for the right to play in the state tournament at McMurry Park in Sulphur.

The Tarpons put three runs on the board in the top of the second and watched the Broncos answer with two in the bottom of the frame.

However, South Cameron remained on top for another inning before Simpson's bats came to life.

The Broncos scored twice in the fourth to take the lead for good and added a single run in the fifth and three in the sixth to take control.

Nash gave up three runs on five hits with 12 strikeouts. He was also 2-for-3 at the plate.

Tristin Williams added a pair of hits, two runs scored and two RBIs, while Quinton Williams had two hits and two runs scored.
