ROSEPINE – Make it nine straight shutouts.

The third-seeded Rosepine Lady Eagles advanced to the Class 2A quarterfinals on Tuesday with an 11-0 victory over No. 14 Pine.

Senior pitcher Chloe Bennett was nearly unhittable as she gave up a single hits and struck out nine in moving to 25-1 on the season.

The Lady Eagles added six runs in the second and three in the third as both Jenna Marler and Calyn Brister each connected on three-run homers during those innings.

The home run for Brister, who was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and four RBIs, was a special moment as it was her 13th of the season, breaking the previous single-season school record.
