Local Teams eliminated from postseason

MONROE – Despite home runs from Karis Kiker and Layla Gamble, the 13th-ranked Leesville Lady Cats saw their season end in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs on Wednesday with a loss to fourth-seeded Neville, 13-6.
Kiker had two RBIs to go along with her homer, while Gamble also had an RBI. Mackenzie Waldrop had a double and an RBI, while Kathryn Keys also doubled for the Lady Cats.
Kaitlyn Worsham had an outstanding day for the Lady Tigers of Neville as she had a double, a grand slam and seven total RBIs. Ellie Loftin added a pair of hits and two RBIs.

CONVERSE – The No. 13 Pitkin Lady Tigers managed just two hits as they fell in the second round of the Class B playoffs to the fourth-seeded Converse Lady Wildcats on Tuesday, 11-1.
Tia Malmay had three hits, including a homer, and three RBIs, while Abby Rivera had two hits and three RBIs.
Tucker Perkins suffered the loss in the circle for the Lady Tigers.

EBARB – The 12th-ranked Hornbeck Lady Hornets saw their season end in the regional Class C playoffs with a 13-3 loss to fifth-ranked Ebarb on Tuesday.
Morgan Smith led Hornbeck with a double and two RBIs, while Hannah Mitchell had a double and two runs scored. Madison Behan added two hits and a run scored, while Abby Nicholas suffered the loss in the circle.

SUMMERFIELD – The 14th-ranked Simpson Lady Broncos lost in the regional round of the Class C playoffs on Tuesday to third-seeded Summerfield, 15-0.
