SBHS blasts LCCP; Dragons, Hornets fall

LAKE CHARLES –  The South Beauregard Golden Knights had little trouble beating Lake Charles College Prep on Tuesday in district play, 11-4.

With the win, South Beauregard improved to 22-4 on the season.

Carter Caraway earned the win on the mound, giving up four runs on four hits with seven strikeouts as he went the distance.

Rett Bowman collected a pair of hits, a run scored and an RBI, while Charles Keith added two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot.

DeRidder….0

TIOGA – Haydan Goal gave up only four hits, while Ole Miss commit Blake McGehee added a couple of hits as the Tioga Indians blanked the DeRidder Dragons in district play Tuesday, 5-0.

Tioga scored all of its runs in the first inning.

Goal gave up no runs on four hits, while striking out eight as he went the distance. McGehee went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Dawson Hebert went the distance on the mound for DeRidder, giving up five runs on four hits with one strikeout.

Hebert, Alex Brannan, D.J. Kendall and Ashton Broussard each had one hit in the loss.

Singer……0

ANACOCO – Brayden Easley had three hits, but it wasn't enough as the Singer Hornets fell in district play Tuesday against the Anacoco Indians, 10-0.

Easley was 3-for-3 in the contest and had all but one of his team's hits. Garrison Hardwick got the other hit for Singer.

Caston Perkins was the pitcher of record for Singer, striking out five over 4.1 innings.

Drew Tebbe had a hit and three RBIs for Anacoco, while Gentry Bennett was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits as he went the distance.
