STANLEY – In a matchup between former district rivals, it would be the Pitkin Lady Tigers to have the upper hand.
Lauryn Longino homered, while Maddy Thompson collected a pair of doubles as the Lady Tigers downed the Evans Lady Eagles on Friday at the Stanley Tournament, 10-5.
With the win, the Lady Tigers broke a two-game losing streak heading into the final week of the regular season.
Evans scored twice in the first inning and owned a 3-1 advantage heading into the fourth.
The Lady Tigers pushed five runs across in the top of the fourth, only to see Evans answer with a run in the bottom of the frame to keep it close.
But Pitkin began to slowly pull away with a run in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh to open a six-run advantage, 10-4.
The Lady Eagles managed to score in the seventh, but not enough to overcome the Lady Tigers.
Brianna Davis had a pair of hits and two RBIs, while Abby Robinson had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
Thompson had two doubles and an RBI for Pitkin, while Shae Wetzel had a hit and two RBIs. Longino's homer was a solo shot.
Sadie Jeane led Evans with a homer, a double and three RBIs, while Daisy Jeane was 4-for-4. Kaitlyn Jeane added a trio of hits, while Madi Gollihugh finished with a pair of hits.
