Simpson wins first game, Pickering wins twice

Simpson seventh-grader Ashlyn Allain hit her first career home run on Thursday in a win over Pleasant Hill.

SIMPSON – Seventh-grader Ashlyn Allain connected on her first career homer, while Cheyenne Robertson was solid in the circle as the Simpson Lady Broncos won their first game of the season on Thursday by defeating Pleasant Hill, 19-9.

Allain was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Robertson struck out eight in the district win.

PICKERING – The Pickering Lady Red Devils picked up a big district win Thursday, beating the Oakdale Lady Warriors, 15-5.

ShaeLa Lawrence picked up the win in the circle, striking out 11. She also helped her own cause with a homer and three RBIs.

Elaina King added two hits and three RBIs, while Alayna Yates, Lexi Bennett and Gwen Sharbeno each had two RBIs.

ShaeLa Lawrence hit a go-ahead three-ring homer in the top of the seventh to lead Pickering past Jennings on Friday, 4-2.

Lawrence also got the win pitching, striking out eight over seven innings. Elaina King added two hits and an RBI in the win.

DeQuincy…..0

DeQUINCY – Calyn Brister hit her eighth homer of the season, backing up Chloe Bennett's no-hitter as the Rosepine Lady Eagles pounded DeQuincy, 11-0.

Bennett struck out 16 in the contest, while also collecting three hits and two RBIs.

Brister drove in four RBIs in the win en route to four hits. Ashlynn Smith added two hits and an RBI.

PITKIN – Tucker Perkins was solid in the circle, while Autumn Kennedy had three RBIs as the Pitkin Lady Tigers held off the Elizabeth Lady Bulldogs on Thursday, 5-2.

Abby Robinson had three hits and an RBI, while Shae Wetzel had two hits and an RBI.

Ebarb…..5

EVANS – Kaitlyn Jeane ripped a pair of home runs, while Sadie Jeane struck out 11 as the Evans Lady Eagles beat the Ebarb Lady Rebels, 7-5.

Sadie Jeane, Riley Haus and Chloe Benjamin each had two hits for Evans.
