Lady Broncos beat Leesville for first win

The Lady Broncos notched a big win over Leesville

SIMPSON – The Simpson Lady Broncos had two players record a double-double en route to their first win of the season, beating the Leesville Lady Cats, 38-31.

The Lady Broncos took a 10-3 lead after the first quarter and used a 14-7 surge in the second period to open up a 24-10 cushion at the half.

Leesville managed to outscore Simpson the rest of the way, but not by enough to overcome the Lady Bronco halftime lead.

Piper Shirley led Simpson with 19 points and 10 steals, while Lexi Merriman added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

MyKal Griffin paced Leesville with eight points.

Oakdale Lady Warriors….35

GLENMORA – The Pitkin Lady Tigers win for the second straight game, beating the Oakdale Lady Warriors, 47-35.

Morgan McAlister and Abby Robinson each scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers in the win.

Joslyn Russell paced Oakdale with 14 points.

Lake Arthur Lady Tigers….64

Hicks Lady Pirates….46

LONGVILLE – The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers had three players score in double figures on Saturday in a 64-46 win over the Hicks Lady Pirates at the Duel in the Dungeon.

All-state Deonna Brister led the Lady Tigers with 19 points, while Kali Hornsby and Brooke Daboval added 17 and 11 points, respectively.

Hicks got 16 points from Lauren Quinn, while also getting 15 points from Chloe Wilbanks and 11 points from Avery Coffman .

Sulphur Lady Tors…..60

Leesville Lady Cats…26

LONGVILLE – Despite a solid effort from Amaya Thomas, the Leesville Lady Cats lost to the Sulphur Lady Tors at South Beauregard on Saturday, 60-26.

Amaya Thomas scored 20 points to lead Leesville, while Sulphur got 11 points from Abbi Massey.

St. Louis Lady Saints…74

Rosepine Lady Eagles…38

LONGVILLE – The Rosepine Lady Eagles had no answer for Myca Trail as she netted 38 points for St. Louis is a 74-38 victory at South Beauregard.

Paris and Raven Guillory had 14 and 12 points for St. Louis. Rosepine got 11 points each from Kelly Norris and Addison Fruge.

Oberlin Lady Tigers….83

Pickering Lady Red Devils…25

LONGVILLE – Megan Manuel poured in a career-high 43 points to lead the Oberlin Lady Tigers to an 83-25 win over the Pickering Lady Red Devils at the Duel in the Dungeon.

Ariana Yates led Pickering with 14 points.
