Anacoco splits with Ebarb; Lady Broncos fall

Anacoco point guard Drew Tebbe (3) had 17 points, leading the Indians to a 94-71 win over Ebarb on Thursday night at the Simpson Tournament.

SIMPSON – Six Anacoco players reached double figures as the Indians rolled past the Ebarb Rebels at the Simpson Tournament on Thursday, 94-71.

With the victory, Anacoco improved to 2-0 overall, while Ebarb is 0-1 on the season.

The Indians raced out to a 29-19 lead at the end of one and used a 23-18 edge in the second quarter to take a 52-37 advantage into the intermission.

It was all Anacoco in the third quarter as the Indians outscored the Rebels, 25-12, to open up a 28-point cushion, 77-49.

Ebarb managed to outscore Anacoco in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as the Indians cruised to victory.

Shaun Riley led Anacoco with 18 points, while Drew Tebbe and Landry Alligood added 17 and 15 points, respectively. Brayden Blakeway came in with 13 points, while Zach Benevage finished with 11 points. Noah Carroll pitched in with 10 points.

Zach Parrie paced Ebarb with 27 points, while Conner Malmay and Nathan Meshell contributed 11 and 10 points.

Anacoco Lady Indians….50

A huge second-quarter run lifted the Ebarb Lady Rebels to a 60-50 win over the Anacoco Lady Indians on Thursday at the Simpson Tournament.

Trailing by five after one period, the Lady Rebels used a 20-2 run to open up a 13-point lead at the break. From there, Ebarb hung onto the lead and never looked back to claim the win.

Millie Tanner led the Lady Rebels with 20 points, while Camryn Cartinez added 13 points.

Bailey Davis had 15 points to pace Anacoco.

Oak Hill Lady Rams….76

Simpson Lady Broncos….47

Oak Hill scored 51 points in the first half en route to a 76-47 win over the hosting Simpson Lady Broncos at the Simpson Tournament on Thursday.

Alexis Dyer led Oak Hill with 17 points, while Kylee Johnson and Emma Tucker finished with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Piper Shirley had 20 points for Simpson as she led all scorers, while Cheyenne Robertson added 11 points.
