A freeze warning is in effect overnight and into Thursday morning in Southwest Louisiana.
The National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office said overnight temperatures will fall near or below freezing along and north of the Interstate 10 corridor.
Temperatures could drop as low as 34 degrees in Lake Charles, 31 degrees in Leesville and 30 degrees in Oakdale.
The freeze warning will be in effect 1-8 a.m. Thursday morning.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill outdoor plants and sensitive vegetation — and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing, the organization said.
Pets should be brought inside or adequate shelter provided for outdoor animals, as well.
