Jeannie was born April 6, 1941, in Los Angeles, Calif., and entered eternal glory Dec. 14, 2022, in Leesville, La., at the age of 81. She did a lot of living and loving in her 81 years. She was devoted to teaching children and loved helping coordinate Vacation Bible School each year. Jeannie loved teaching Sunday School, was an avid reader, loved traveling, and making crafts. She was devoted to 4-H and the DARE program and always set aside time to watch the grandkids play ball or help them bake Christmas cookies. She loved her community with all family gatherings, but while you can take the girl out of California, you can’t take California out of the girl. Jeannie never lost her love of the deserts and mountains of her youth and spent hours each week on the phone with kinfolks out west. From California to Louisiana, she will be truly missed.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Lambright; parents, William and Mary McKay; brothers, Bill and Larry McKay; and sisters, Barbara McKay Johnson, and Laura Lou McKay Dresser.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Lambright Vickers and husband Mike of Prairieville, La., Kevin Lambright of Leesville, La., Dale Lambright and wife Kathleen of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Terry Lambright and wife Amanda of Leesville, La.; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Chiari, Sarah Loredo, Rachael Tyler, Sarah Brown, Tyler Compton, Emily Lambright, Hannah Lambright, Peyton Lambright, and Marshal Lambright; great-grandchildren, Domani, Mia, Luca, Kingston, Leo, Brayden, Daxton, Raylen, Tayva, Harriet, Iris, and Wallace; sisters, Patricia McKay Hamlett and Bonnie McKay Wilkins; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
