Rosepine pummels Pickering; Evans, Hicks roll

PICKERING — Freshman shortstop Ashlyn Hall drove in a career-high four RBIs, while three other Rosepine players had three RBIs as they dominated the Pickering Lady Red Devils in a District 5-2A contest, 17-3.

Hall was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, along with scoring two runs. Shelby Deason notched a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Marli Jones and Barbra Ann White had a hit and three RBIs apiece.

Sienna Stinley earned the win in the circle for Rosepine, giving up three runs and striking out six as she remained undefeated on the season.


Pleasant Hill…..4 

EVANS — Sadie Jeane continued her power surge at the plate, connecting on a pair of home runs as she helped lead the Evans Lady Eagles to a 14-4 win over the Pleasant Hill Eagles on Tuesday in District 3-C play.

In all, Jeane, who now has 12 homers on the season, drove in five RBIs, while also scoring two runs.

Daisy Jeane added a trio of hits with an RBI, while Brooklyn Jeter also had three hits.

Ainsley Loftin went the distance pitching for Evans, striking out eight as she gave up four runs on four hits.



HICKS — After losing 11 of their first 12 games, the Hicks Lady Pirates have found their groove.

Jayde Wilbanks smashed two homers and Jozlyn Westfall had a trio of doubles as they guided the Lady Pirates past the Glenmora Lady Wildcats, 17-4.

Wilbanks had four total RBIs as she was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Westfall had four RBIs with her three doubles. Maliah Gordy also had three hits and scored three runs.

Destiny Hickman took the win, giving up four runs on four hits with four strikeouts.



LEESVILLE — The Leesville Lady Cats bats were relatively silent as they fell in defeat to the Tioga Lady Indians in district play, 8-1.

Jina Call suffered the loss in the circle as she gave up eight runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.

Karis Kiker was one of three Lady Cats to get a hit.
