Merryville blanks Hicks, Rosepine wins opener

MERRYVILLE — Merryville pitcher Riley Dyson was unhittable on Tuesday afternoon as she fired a perfect game in the Lady Panthers’ 10-0 win in six innings over the Hicks Lady Pirates.

Merryville scored three runs in the first and third innings, while adding two runs in the fourth and single runs in the fifth and sixth to close out the game via the 10-run rule.

Dyson struck out 12 batters and surrendered no walks or hits in the victory. Lindsey Townley had three hits, three runs scored and an RBI for the Lady Panthers, while Hannah Harrington had two hits, including a double, and two runs scored.

Kayden Busby suffered the loss in the circle for the Lady Pirates, giving up 10 runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and three walks.



PITKIN — The Rosepine Lady Eagles opened regular-season play on Tuesday by picking up a 9-3 win over the Pitkin Lady Tigers.
