Wampus Cats survive in double overtime; Simpson, Hornbeck win

LEESVILLE — The Leesville Wampus Cats overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to win in double overtime over the Tioga Indians, 57-56, Tuesday night in a District 3-4A showdown.
The victory kept the Wampus Cats in the playoff picture as they will need to continue winning if they want to reach the Class 4A postseason.
The Wampus Cats got 16 points from Daven Scott, while Ju’lian Culbert added 15 points as the Cats prepare to take on the rival DeRidder Dragons on the road on Friday.

SIMPSON — The Simpson Broncos had three players score in double figures on Tuesday night, beating the Hicks Pirates in a District 3-C showdown, 57-43.
Braxton Basco led the Broncos with 19 points, while Ethan Nash added 12 points. Tristin Williams came in with 10 points.
Damien Lavery paced Hicks with 11 points, while Kase Busby notched 10 points.

Evans Eagles……35
EVANS — Four Hornbeck players reached double digits on Tuesday evening in a District 3-C win over the Evans Eagles, 50-35.
Devyn Sharp paced all scorers, notching 16 points for Hornbeck, while Adam Rhodes, Brady Alexander and Jaren Mitcham all had 10 points.
Wyatt Austin led Evans with 10 points.

ROSEPINE — The Oakdale Warriors remained unbeaten in District 5-2A play on Tuesday by cruising past the Rosepine Eagles, 88-47.
Leon Posey IV poured in 29 points to lead the Warriors, while Elijah Anderson came in with 14 points. Khamell Jack and K.J. Young each finished with 10 points.
Rosepine got 17 points from Braydon Williams, while Hayden Brister and Hunter Hines added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

ROSEPINE — Nevaeh Rivera led three Rosepine players in double figures with 21 points as the Lady Eagles downed the Lady Warriors of Oakdale on Tuesday in district play, 67-50.
Taylor Farris had 15 points for Rosepine, while Kelly Norris added 11 points.
Akeelah Hobson paced Oakdale with 14 points, while Zakyra Spikes finished with 13 points.

SIMPSON — The HIcks Lady Pirates continued their unbeaten march through District 3-C on Tuesday with a 62-32 win over the Simpson Lady Broncos.
Lauren Quinn led Hicks with 22 points, while Reese Stephens and Shyanne Phillips notched 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Ashlyn Allain had 15 points to lead Simpson.

EVANS — Four Hornbeck players reached double digits on Tuesday as the Lady Hornets beat the Evans Eagles for the third time this season, 63-51.
Hannah Mitchell had 19 points to lead Hornbeck, while Jayda James and Hannah Dahlhoff finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively. Kayleigh Park contributed 10 points.
Riley Haus and Triniti Bridges led Evans with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

LEESVILLE — The Leesville Lady Cats kept pace in District 3-4A play on Tuesday night by taking care of the Tioga Lady Indians, 45-28.
Corneilya Williams paced Leesville with 14 points, while senior Amaya Thomas added 12 points.
Abby Troquille had 16 points to lead Tioga, while Madison Lockwood chipped in with 10 points.
