A Leesville man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly making threats of violence against his former employees, according to authorities.

Jobe Cross, 22, of Hornbeck, faces charges of simple assault, simple battery and terrorizing after authorities say he verbally threatened and physically assaulted employees at his former place of employment.

According to Leesville Police, officers were called to a Leesville business Saturday night in regards to an employee who was terminated after making threats towards other employees.

That employee, later identified as Cross, was not present at the time officers arrived at the business, but during their investigation officers learned he had threatened several employees with bodily harm and had physically grabbed one employee.

Officers also learned Cross had made threats to shoot police officers and to “shoot up a church,” according to authorities.

Investigators were able to make contact with Cross on Sunday, at which time Cross agreed to come to the Leesville Police Department.

He was booked into the Vernon Parish Jail with no bond set at the time of his booking.
