Lady Indians down Many, Pitkin falls

ANACOCO — A dominant first quarter proved to be the difference as the Anacoco Lady Indians downed the Many Lady Tigers on Tuesday night in non-district play, 41-27.

Anacoco jumped out to a 17-2 lead at the end of the first eight minutes, but managed to score only four points during the second quarter. However, Many also struggled to score as well, trimming the halftime deficit to 11 points, 21-10.

Neither team was able to really get the offense going in the third period as Anacoco moved back out to a 14-point lead thanks to a 9-6 edge in the frame, going into the fourth up, 30-16.

The teams exchanged points for the majority of the fourth period as the Lady Indians got the win.

Brooklyn Bryant and Paige Mayo each scored 10 points to lead the Lady Indians to victory. No Many player reached double digits.

DRY CREEK — A big run in the fourth quarter was all the East Beauregard Lady Trojans needed as they downed the visiting Pitkin Lady Tigers on Tuesday night, 53-44.

East Beauregard took a 13-11 lead after one quarter of play and used a 15-10 scoring edge in the second to go into the locker room at the half up, 28-21.

However, Pitking was able to put together a 12-4 run in the third quarter to take a 33-32 lead.

But the Lady Trojans rallied to overcome the deficit, outscoring Pitkin, 21-11, over the final eight minutes of play to earn the victory.

Lila Lewis paced the Lady Trojans with 13 points, while Camryn Reeves pitched in 12 points for East Beauregard.

Abby Robinson had 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers, while Tucker Perkins chipped in with 12 points.
