Leesville’s local comic book store, The Box, recently held another Warhammer 40k tournament. Justin Phillips of Lufkin, Texas, took first place at the tournament. Phillips also was given the “Best Painted” award for the paint job done on his miniatures.

The following players took the top spots at this months tournament:

1st Place: Phillips

2nd Place: Wes Talley of Fort Polk Army E-Games, Fort Polk

3rd Place: Mike Skulley of Fort Polk

Warhammer 40k is one of the many tabletop games sold and played at The Box.

In the game, players build armies to battle with one another in a futuristic setting that combines elements of science fiction and high fantasy. The game was first introduced in 1987 and rapidly became a global phenomenon with a dedicated fanbase. The 9th edition of Warhammer 40,000’s updated rules was officially released in 2020.
