Vernon voters back McMahon for constable

Vernon Parish voters elected John McMahon as constable-Justice of the Peace for Ward 3 on Saturday, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office.
McMahon won 202 votes, or 57 percent, of those cast on Saturday over his opponent, Isaac Riley. Riley won 155 votes.
The two faced each other on Saturday’s ballot in a run-off election from November’s election.
According to unofficial turnout numbers from the Secretary of State’s office, 20 percent of eligible voters in Vernon Parish cast their vote in Saturday’s election. Early voters accounted for 37 votes.
