Thibodeaux captures state championship for Singer

Brayden Thibodeaux took home first place for Singer in the shot put Thursday at the Class B state track and field championships.

BATON ROUGE – Singer standout Brayden Thibodeaux accomplished his goal.

On Thursday afternoon at the Class B state track and field championships in Bernie Moore Stadium on the campus of Louisiana State University, Thibodeaux won the state title in the shot put.

He was the lone thrower to eclipse the 50-foot barrier, hurling the shot put just a shade over 51 feet.

Thibodeaux's performance helped his team finish 11th overall with 20 points. J.S. Clark won the team title with 117 points.

Singer got a third-place showing from Jeremiah Belton in the long jump, while he teamed up with Dylan Conner, Brayden Easley and Zachary Marcantel to claim fourth in the 400-meter relay.
