Lady Indians knock off Bell City, 9-4

Anacoco pitcher Bailey Davis struck out 12 Bell City batters on Wednesday to lead the Lady Indians to a 9-4 victory.

BELL CITY – The ninth-ranked Anacoco Lady Indians are moving on.

Ava Davis and Jaiden Craft combined for four extra-base hits, three runs scored and three RBIs as they led the Lady Indians to a 9-4 victory in the second round of the Class B playoffs, beating No. 8 Bell City.

With the win, the Lady Indians will play host to top-ranked Forest in the quarterfinals in a game slated for 4 p.m. Friday, weather permitting. Forest edged the Fairview Lady Panthers on Wednesday, 4-3.

Bailey Davis drove in a pair of runs offensively, though she was unable to register a hit. But she did her damage in the circle where she tossed a six-hitter and struck out 12 batters.

Ava Davis had a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI from her leadoff spot, while Craft triple and doubled en route to scoring a run and collecting two RBIs.

Emily Scott added two hits and an RBI for Anacoco, with Tylar Summitt finished with two hits, including a double.
