Indians, Pirates earn shutout wins

ANACOCO – The Anacoco Indians picked up an easy win on Tuesday, knocking off the rival Singer Hornets in district play, 10-0.

The Indians broke open the game in the third with three runs and scored three more in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.

Anacoco ended it in the bottom of the sixth with four runs, taking a 10-0 victory.

Gentry Bennett gave up no runs on four hits with one strikeout as he worked all six innings for the Indians.

Offensively, Drew Tebbe had a hit and three RBIs, while Landry Alligood had a hit and two runs scored.

Brayden Easley was a bright spot for the Hornets as he was 3-for-3 in the contest.

HICKS – The Hicks Pirates stepped out of district play on Tuesday and defeated the Reeves Red Raiders, 13-0.

Hicks (21-2) got three hits and three RBIs from Zach Haymon, while Dylan Williams had a double among his two hits, four runs scored and three RBIs.

Hunter Thacker earned the win pitching, giving up only one hit with six strikeouts over three innings. Offensively, he had a double among his two hits with two runs scored and an RBI, while Dalton Edwards pitched in two hits, one of which was a double, and two runs scored.

PITKIN – Alex Chamberlain scattered three hits over seven innings, while Laiken Odom had three doubles, leading the Elizabeth Bulldogs to a 6-1 district win Tuesday over the Pitkin Tigers.

Chamberlain struck out six and gave up only one run as he earned the win. He also had two hits and an RBI.

Odom was 3-for-4, while Aiden Soileau added a homer and two RBIs.

Jaxon Perkins had a hit and drove in the only run for the Tigers, while Zeke Lentz was tagged with the loss on the mound.

Leesville….8

LEESVILLE – Chris Clark had three hits and six RBIs as he led the Alexandria Senior High Trojans to a 22-8 non-district win over the Leesville Wampus Cats on Tuesday.

Clark was a single short of the cycle as he doubled, tripled and homered in the win. Judd Barton got the win pitching for ASH, while also collecting three hits, two runs scored and three RBIs. John Parrish also had three hits, while scoring three times and driving in two runs.

Jacob Mount suffered the loss pitching, while Braeden Bradley had a double among his three hits, along with an RBI.
