LEESVILLE, LA—Ken Hughes, President/CEO of Merchants & Farmers Bank is pleased to announce Jeanette Hilton has been promoted to Mortgage Lender for the Vernon Parish area market.

Hilton has been with Merchants & Farmers for eight years as a mortgage processor assisting lenders in the loan application process, loan documentation, loan closing procedures, including the follow up and maintenance of closed loans.

Her new responsibilities will include reviewing loan applications for homes, land purchases and refinancing, handling rural development and Federal Housing Administration loans, preparation/processing of residential loans, ordering flood certificates/credit reports, and coordinating loan closings.

“Jeanette’s excellent work as a processor has been one of the reasons our mortgage department has been such a success. We are happy to get her in front of our customers to make their borrowing experience such a pleasant one,” state Hughes.

Hilton was born in Littlefield, Texas, graduated from Littlefield High School, class of 1995 and attended South Plains College in Texas where she received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Hilton has resided in Hornbeck, Louisiana for the last 13 years with her husband, Jason. Together they have two children— Joey (23) and Ryleigh (10). Her stepson, Joey is currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan serving in the Air Force.

“Being on the back side as a mortgage processor, I feel has prepared me to step into this position and continue to work hard and provide the best financial services that Merchants & Farmers has to offer new or first-time home buyers. I’m excited to meet and serve our customers on the front line,” states Hilton.
