VPSO Deputies help citizen in need

The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office issued the following statement on Wednesday regarding a call they received, and how deputies assisted a citizen in need despite the hazardous weather conditions: 

"Despite the harsh weather conditions VPSO Deputies are continuing to assist our citizens throughout the parish.VPSO received a call from an elderly lady in the area of Kurthwood Road in relation to water coming into her home."

"Deputies arrived and discovered that a gutter pipe was obstructed and allowing water to get inside of her residence. Detective Ethan Crockett and Patrol Supervisor Jason Horton [removed] furniture from the water soaked area of the home."

"There is a possibility that the gutter pipe may have become obstructed by ice due to the inclement weather conditions. We are proud to serve the citizens of Vernon Parish. We pray that everyone is staying warm and safe."
