BPSO and DPD issue joint statement about DeRidder shooting

The following statements were released by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, and the DeRidder Police Department in a joint statement on Wednesday Feb. 10:
On Tuesday, Feb. 9 20201, at approximately 12:39 a.m, the DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting near an apartment complex on Greenbriar Street in DeRidder.
Upon officers arrival, officers located a victim with a gunshot wound, who was transported to a local hospital. The DeRidder Police Department and Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office have made arrests in connection with the shooting. Nakylan Blake, Nakeya "KP" Blake, and Jalyn Thurman have been arrested for LA R.S. 14:27 / 14:30.1 Attempted Second-Degree Homicide hold without bond.
The DeRidder Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for both Andre "AJ" Jones Jr. and Byron "Burt" Childs for LA R.S. 14:27/ 14:30.1, Attempted Second-Degree Homicide in reference to a shooting that occured near an apartment complex located on Greenbriar Street in DeRidder, on Feb. 9, 2021, at approximately 12:39 a.m.
