Tigers rip East Beauregard, Lady Tigers fall

PITKIN – The Pitkin Tigers raced out to a huge lead early and never relented as they destroyed the East Beauregard Trojans at the annual Cameron Communications Christmas Classic at Pitkin High School, 91-38.

The Tigers used a 24-5 run in the opening stanza to establish dominance early on. They continued to pour it on in the second quarter, using a 25-15 outburst to take a 49-20 lead at the intermission.

It was more of the same in the second half as the Tigers cruised to the easy win.

Jaycee Thompson led the way for Pitkin with 30 points, while Zeke Lentz contributed 15 points. Hayden Lavergne chipped in with 12 points.

Adam Fontenot had 11 points to lead the Trojans, while Ashton Cooley added 10 points.

The Pitkin Lady Tigers put together a tremendous rally, only to fall short of the Glenmora Lady Wildcats in the Cameron Communications Christmas Classic at Pitkin High School, 61-52.

The Lady Wildcats opened the game with a 17-6 run to take the lead. Pitkin rallied with a 17-13 edge in the second, closing the gap at the break, 30-23.

Pitkin continued to claw back into the game, but Glenmora managed to hold on for the win.

N. Yancey led Glenmora with 18 points. Pitkin got a game-high 21 points from Abby Robinson, while teammate Emily Milton chipped in with eight points.
