South Beauregard running back Malachi McElhaney (20) will need to have his best game of the season Friday as the Golden Knights face undefeated Jennings.

JENNINGS – The South Beauregard Golden Knights have quite the test ahead of them.

The Golden Knights (4-1, 2-0) take to the road Friday night to face off against district rival and the undefeated Jennings Bulldogs at 7 p.m.

Jennings (5-0, 1-0) is coming off a bye week due to being placed in COVID-19 quarantine. In their last outing, the Bulldogs rallied to beat Leesville, 56-41.

South Beauregard is coming off a pair of hard-fought wins over Westlake and St. Louis, winning by a combined eight points.

Jennings features a high-powered offense led by the inning back duo of 3-star recruit Trevor Etienne and Jalen Lewis. Etienne ran for 310 yards and three touchdowns in his last game on just 18 carries, while Lewis had a pair of scores in going over the century mark.

The Bulldogs also have a solid passing game with Bud Wilridge at quarterback and Ja'Corien Palfrey at receiver. Palfrey is also a standout on defense and had a strip and score which turned the tide against Leesville.

As for the Golden Knights, the duo of quarterback Kyler Kibodeaux and running back Malachi McElhaney will lead the way. Kibodeaux is as dangerous with his legs as he is with his arm, while McElhaney is looking to have a monster game after being held under 100 yards his last two outings.
