Funeral services for Linda Faye Garess Goins will
be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Cold Spring Baptist Church with Reverends Ricky Robertson, Larry White, Wade Carroll, and Myron Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s
Funeral Service. Visitation for the family and friends of Mrs. Goins will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th at the church and will continue until the time of service on Thursday.
Mrs. Goins was born on February 11, 1941, and
passed away on February 18, 2019, at the age of 78. She lived in the Vernon Parish area all of her life and was a member of Cold Spring Baptist Church. Mrs. Goins enjoyed being outside tending her flowers and working in her garden. She loved to sew
and take care of her family. Her great grandkids called her MawMaw Buck.
Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Garess and Ethel Lee Thompson Garess and granddaughter, Autumn Ray Goins.
Left to cherish their
memories of her are her husband of 59 years, Thomas C. “Buck” Goins sons, Paul Goins and fiancée Andrea Behan of Anacoco, LA; Doug Goins of Anacoco, LA; and Kenneth Goins and wife Sheila of Hutton, LA daughter, Lisa Dowden and husband Butch of
Anacoco, LA brother, Edward Garess and wife Nita of Pickering, LA sisters, Cleta Withers of Alexandria, LA; Lorieta Albany of Cleveland, OH; Glenda Erwin and husband Herman of Leesville, LA; Joyce Ferguson and husband George of Slagle, LA; and Wanda
Krainz of Leesville, LA sisters-in-law, Myrtle Marze and Nita Garess grandchildren, Emily Goins, Sarah Goins, Kourtni Williams and husband Heath, Davelon Hillman, Dillion Hillman, Kevin Jeane, Cheyenne Taylor, and John Marshall great grandchildren,
Gabe Williams and Mayleigh Williams and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Erwin, Sherman Erwin, David Garess, Jerry Garess, Dillion Hillman, and Kevin Clark.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Marshall,
Kevin Jeane, Myron Erwin, and Edward Garess.
Mrs. Goins family would like to especially thanks Dr. Mathews, Dr. Landrum, and the staff at Byrd ICU for their kind attention and care.
