Junior was born New Year’s Day of 1937 to the late Edmond E. LaCaze Sr. and Anabel Brister LaCaze and he was a lifelong resident of Hicks. He married Margaret Ann Carr in the summer of 1957. In the 1950s he served honorably in the U.S. Army, and
following his military service, he went on to work for NASA at Biloxi, Miss., Scogin Auto Parts, and as a Probation and Parole Officer Supervisor for the Louisiana Department of Corrections in West Central Louisiana until retirement in 2006. Junior
also served as the Hicks Fire Department Chief, retiring in 2017. He truly relished the lifelong friendships formed and the difference he made in the lives of others through the years. Junior could often be found rocking a baby to sleep and he loved
to visit with family, friends, and neighbors on the front porch or at the local store over a cup of coffee, playing and a pickin’ his guitar on a Friday night, or watching an old episode of Gunsmoke. Junior rarely met a stranger and he was deeply
loved and respected by all that knew him in the community.

Known as Junior to many, Daddy to his three children, and Pawpaw to his grandchildren, the legacy he leaves will endure for many generations and he will forever be
cherished in the lives of his family and friends. Junior is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret; one sister Shaunda Tafel of Hudson, FL; daughter, Donnis LaCaze Poe and her husband, Paul D. Poe; son, Daniel LaCaze; daughter, Linda LaCaze
Smith; six grandchildren: Deshae LaCaze Goins and her husband, Ross; Amy Poe Florendo and her husband, Cam; Courtney LaCaze McKee and her husband, Brandon; Jaclyn Poe Bailes and her husband, Richard; and Caleb LaCaze and his wife, Jessika; eleven

great-great-grandson, Cade Sumner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dalphard LaCaze, and his beloved grandson, Benjamin(“Ben”)Smith.

Alexandria and the staff of the Woodlands of Leesville who by their gentle care and compassion made Junior’s last days in this life as comfortable as possible. The family also wishes to thank Tara Humphrey, Robin McInnis, and Linda Tibbett, three
