Lorene Gustafson

Lorene Turner Gustafson, 87, died peacefully on
July 12th, 2018, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, OH.

Born July 2, 1931 in Leesville, LA, granddaughter of Edmond and Weltha Ann Bass, she married Rev. Clifford Ernest Gustafson, Jr. on January 11, 1954
in DeRidder, LA at the First Pentecostal Church. She assisted her husband in the churches he pastored in New York, Iowa and Illinois. They pastored in Princeton, IL for 22 years, at the United Pentecostal Church. They taught at camps, conferences,
military retreats and School of Missions. God gave them many friends from all over the world, who they loved, along with many blessings.

She attended Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN and Fordham University, NY. She
supported Tupelo Children’s Mansion, taught children at the United Pentecostal Church International’s School of Missions for 13 years, and directed the educational department in all the churches they pastored. She was a guest speaker at many
Christian women’s conferences and trained many Sunday School teachers. She has been a faithful member of the First Apostolic Church of Defiance, OH for the past 21 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann (Robert) Frake,
Oakwood, OH; granddaughters Jacqueline (Garrett) Davis, Defiance, OH; Gabrielle Frake, Long Beach, CA; a great granddaughter, Gemma Rosemary Davis, and a beloved sister, Nadine Turner Goins, DeRidder, LA .
Her home-going service was held
on Saturday, July 14th at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. Robert Frake. The internment followed at Riverside Cemetery, next to her late husband in the Veteran’s section in Defiance, OH.

Memorials are suggested to the First Apostolic Church of Defiance or the Clifford Gustafson Theological Fund, Apostolic Bible Institute, St.Paul, MN.
