Johnny Hunt

Johnny William Hunt, 72, of Pitkin, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, March, 8, 2018.

Mr. Hunt graduated from Leesville High School in 1963. He joined the US Military in 1962 – Electronic School with the US
Navy. In 1965 he enrolled at University of Louisiana in Lafayette, LA, sponsored by Atlantic Richfield which is now British Petroleum. In 1973, he joined Phillips Petroleum as Production Supervisor. December 1, 1978, he transferred to Stavanger
Norway Ekofisk Operations in the North Sea. December 1, 1981, he joined Natomas International Operations in Jakarta Indonesia. In 1987, Natomas International merged with Diamond Shamrock where he worked as Production Superintendent, until Maxus
Energy Corporation was formed. He then worked in various positions in Indonesia as Production Superintendent, Acquisitions, Project Manager and Kodak Operations. In June 2000, he retired to his home in Pitkin, LA. From June 2000, to present, he had
his own Cattle Farm on Hunts Farm. He was baptized at Northside Baptist Church in Layfette, LA in 1968 and attended Baptist Churches in various countries. He joined Providence Baptist Church in 2006 and was ordained a Baptist deacon in July 2009.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Patsy Hunt of Pitkin, LA; daughters, Lisa Lea Hunt Nugent and Kevin of Marco, LA and Laqindle Lynn Hunt Diamond and Greg of Addis, LA; son, Johnny William Hunt II and
Kayla of Bundicks Lake, LA. He also had fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, Evertt and Georgia Hunt;
grandchildren, Evan “Buggy Willis and Kenneth “Frog” Brossette, Jr.; brothers, Douglas, Donald, Archie and Troy Hunt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, 2206
Providence Rd, Rosepine, LA. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 12:00 Noon until the time of funeral service at 2:30 P.M also at Providence Baptist Church. Brother Arlan Smith will officiate the service. Pallbearers and Honorary
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and granddaughters; William Willis, Matthew Hurley, Michael Hurley, Jason McCraw, Johnny Hunt III, Ross Brosette, Gregory Diamond, Jr., Gabe Diamond, Joseph Lirette, Rachel Hunt, Amanda Hunt, Mallory Nugent and
Maddie Diamond. Burial will follow at John C. White Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
