Jean Conerly

Jean Conerly, formerly of Anacoco, Louisiana, and
Buna, TX, went to join her Heavenly Father and loved ones in Heaven on February 24, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family in the days leading up to her passing. Born Melba Jean Presley, to William Barron Presley, Sr., and Beulah Addison
Presley on February 1, 1931, Jean spent her early childhood in Port Arthur, Texas. She later moved with her family to Anacoco, Louisiana, where she graduated from Anacoco High School in 1948. After completing a secretarial degree at Lamar College in
Beaumont, she worked as a secretary at DuPont Chemical Company for 6 years before leaving to raise a family. Jean married Jack Conerly on August 18, 1950, and they resided in Port Arthur, Texas, Groves, Texas, and Buna, Texas.

Jack and Jean retired to Anacoco in 1988 where they lived on Lake Vernon and enjoyed traveling. Devoted to her family, Jean loved to garden, care for her children and grandchildren, and cook for family gatherings. She remained close to her
siblings her entire life. Jean lived the last five years of her life in Boerne, TX to be near family. She leaves behind two sisters, Kay Schmitt and Pat Corie, children Rodney (Valerie) Conerly, Kevin Conerly, Laura (Jonathan) Stuart, grandchildren
Hannah Rees, Julia Bagwell, Colin Stuart, Geoffrey Stuart, Jackie Ingram, Jessica Fedoroff, and Harley Conerly, and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband Jack, sister Joy, and brother Bill. A memorial service
will be held on March 3, 2018, at Beech Grove United Methodist Church in Anacoco, LA, at 2 pm. Visitation will be at the church immediately preceding the service.
