Melissa Ellen Airhart Kennedy was born on December
28, 1968 and went to Heaven
on January 16, 2018. Her wake and service will be held at Old Anacoco Baptist
Church. Service was held on Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 am. Rev. Wayne Chance will officiate.

Melissa came into the world on a chilly, bright December day. The youngest child of
Billy and Carol Airhart, she grew up adored and surrounded by six brothers and sisters,
friends and family. Growing up in Hornbeck, she
cheered for the Hornets until she
graduated with the Class of 1986.

Not too many years after high school, her dreams
came true when she welcomed her daughter, Randi, into the world; she loved being a
mother. Her son, Austin, was born a few years later. For her, the sun rose and set on
her children. For the last 14 years she has served the community as a dispatcher for
the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department where she was
recently promoted to Dispatch
Supervisor.

Four years ago she met and married Chuck Kennedy, the love of her life. She became
step-mother to Shelby and Matthew. In the last few years she loved nothing more
than
spending time spoiling her grandchildren and worshiping Jesus. She was a member of
Galilee Baptist Church where Chuck is a deacon. She woke up every day grateful for
all she was blessed with. On Saturday, January
20, 2018 surrounded by her six
brothers and sisters, family, and friends, she will be celebrated and honored. We know
our baby girl is safe and well in the arms of Jesus.
