Mr. Tommie L. Josey

Funeral services for Tommie L. Josey, 80, of
Anacoco were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco, with the Rev. Wesley Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Good Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation was held from 5-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, and on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Tommie, the son of Earnest Jeffie and Myrtle Lee Tibbits Josey was born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Leesville.
He passed away at his residence in Anacoco on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.
Mr. Josey was a carpenter, cut and bailed hay, worked for Brown & Root and helped to build Toledo Bend. He was an “Ol Timer” fox hunter.
He is survived by
his wife of 54 years, Linda Josey of Anacoco; children, Mike and wife, Candy, of Plainview, Robert and wife, Gina, of Moss Bluff; and Betty and husband, Brent McBride, of Evans; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brother, Mickey Josey of
Houston; sister, Sharon Neely of Anacoco; a host of nieces, nephews and friends and a special friend, Tom Voyles.
