Funeral services for John Edward Perry, Jr., 77,
of Leesville will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 20 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral
home.
John, the son of Betty Louise Johnston and John Edward Perry, Sr., was born on February 28, 1939, in Shippensburg, Penn. He passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in Alexandria.
After spending four years in the
Marines Mr. Perry joined the Army and served two years in Vietnam, earning numerous awards and medals. After 20 years in the Army he continued to work at Ft. Polk for Civil Service for another 20 years.
He was an active member of the VFW,
American Legion, Mason and Shriners. He loved helping people and had a big heart for children.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Perry, Sr.; mother, Betty Louise Johnston; sister, Gloria Gilbert and brother, Barry
Perry.
He is survived by one son, Kelly Lynn Perry (Sheri) of McConnellsburg, Penn.; one daughter, Belinda Ann Perry-Jones (Doug) of Rosepine; four granddaughters, Kasey Perry, Brittani Jones-Johnson, Kellyn Perry and Sheridan Perry; one
grandson, Doug Jones, II; two brothers, Bill Perry and Richard Perry; and one sister, Florence Horn.
