Funeral services for Charles Eugene “Cotton”
Dowden were held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Prewitts Chapel Baptist Church, 383 Prewitt Chapel Rd., Hornbeck, with Rev. Nick Hilton and Rev. Douglas Downs officiating. Burial was in Prewitts Chapel Cemetery under the direction of
Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 22, 2016, and Saturday, July 23.
Charles Eugene “Cotton” Dowden was born on September 10, 1969, in Many to Charles and Ann Behan Dowden. He passed away on July 21,
2016 in Hornbeck at the age of 46.
He attended Hornbeck High School and worked as a foreman for KCS Railroad. He loved to hunt, fish, and work with taxidermy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded
in death by his son, Samuel Allen Dowden; step-son, Mikey A. Black, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Ann Dowden of Hornbeck; a daughter, Megan Dowden of Hornbeck; a step-daughter, Tiffany Kiser of Leesville;
a step-son, Nicolas Bethany of Shreveport; two sisters, Angela and husband Larry Averitt and Tandy and husband Kevin Killian, all of Hornbeck; and a host of nephews and nieces.
