Edna Merle Legendre

PICAYUNE, Miss. – Edna Merle Gross Legendre, 83,
of Picayune, passed away on Thursday, June 16,
2016.
She was the devoted wife to Robert M. Legendre, Sr. of Picayune. She was mother to James Kirt Dammon (wife Dorothy), David P. Dammon (wife Terri), Jennifer A. Rigdon, Charles
K. Dammon, Denise A. Legendre (Bill Mc Curdy), Renee Legendre Bennet (husband Jimmy), Robert M. Legendre, Jr. (wife Cherie), Lisa M. Allemand (husband Ryan). She was a sister to Pansy Ruth Gross (friend Jane), and Roland Frank Gross, Jr. (wife
Marie). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Dale L. Dammon and by her parents, Roland Frank Gross, Sr. and Paulita Boutin Gross of Port Arthur, Texas.
Edna
was a native of and raised in Port Arthur and was a long-time resident of Slidell, La. and of Leesville, La., most recently residing in Picayune.
Edna will be missed by many sharing her talents in the Altar Guild and Daughters of The King,
She was an award-winning quilter and gardener a member of the Native Plant Society in Leesville.
Memorial services will be held get 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Picayune.
