Perry D. Smith

Funeral services for Perry D. Smith, 71, of
Leesville will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Jeff Coleman and Rev. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery.

Visitation will
be Friday, June 10, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Perry, the son of Melvin P. and Ella Belle Smith, was born on October 6, 1944, in Leesville. He passed
away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in Leesville.

Mr. Smith retired as the assistant postmaster for Leesville and Anacoco after 33 years with the Postal Service. He loved to fish, grow a garden and being outdoors. No matter what he
did Perry did it with a passion. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Leesville. He served with the National Guard for six months and six years in the National Guard Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his
parents and brother, Mickey Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen Smith of Leesville; daughter, Amy Diane Smith of Alexandria; brothers, Don Lester Smith of Lafayette, Eddie Lee Smith of Baton Rouge, and Paul
A. Smith of Dubach; sisters, Nancy Hequemburg of Oklahoma and Marguerite Rowell of Baton Rouge; and grandchildren, Cheyanne Renee, Amberly Layne, Alex and Analise.
