John Joseph Spillane

Mr. John Joseph Spillane “Mickey”, 72, of
Leesville, died June 2, 2016.
He was born on November 30, 1943 to Alena and John Spillane in Trenton, N.J. John grew up in New Jersey, and then joined the Army and did his basic training at Fort Polk. That is where he met his wife of 49 ½
years, Barbara. They lived their lives in New Jersey and Louisiana.
John considered his greatest achievements to be his wonderful children: Michael Douglas Spillane of
Sulphur and Richard Scott Spillane and wife, Laura, of
Sulphur; his beautiful grandchildren: Darby Elise and Jonathan, Tristan John Spillane, Nicholas Kelley, Nathan Kelley, Christopher Kelley, Alex Drost, Bryan Drost and great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Harris.
Mr. Spillane is preceded in death
by his parents, Alena and John Spillane; sister, Mary Jane Miller; brother-in- law, Richard Miller.
John has two sisters: Irene Cramer of Smyrna, Del. and Eva Martin and husband, Steve, of Kunkletown, Penn. He also has a brother, Thomas
Spillane, and wife, Connie, of Houston, Texas.
John’s greatest privilege was being a member of the Rosepine Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness for 41 years, 33 of which he served as an Elder. He truly loved everyone in the congregation. He
loved telling everyone about Jehovah God and his great son, Jesus Christ.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in Leesville.
