Funeral services for Elsie Carol Welch, 85, of
Anacoco will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco, with Rev. Wallace Palmer and Bro. Tinker Hillman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow
in Good Hope Cemetery.
Elsie was born on October 26, 1930, in Brush, Colo. to Willie Melvin and Dollie Laverne Gilbert Cox. She went home peacefully to be with the Lord on April 29, 2016, at her home in Anacoco.
She was a
talented artist; she loved to paint the deserts of Arizona. She loved to ride her bicycle, crochet, cook, read mysteries, and garden in her many flower beds. She always enjoyed a good conversation, good music, and a good baseball game. She was a
wonderful wife, mother, sister, Grandma, aunt and was a friend to many.
In heaven she will be met by her husband of 54 years, John H. Welch; son Wayne Orrin Welch; daughter, Donna Jane Welch; and parents Willie and Dollie Cox.
She is survived by her son, Gary M. Welch of Anacoco; three sisters, Lila Mae Cox McCormick of Sacramento, Calif., Eva Belle Mims of Tucson, Ariz. and Linda Christine Stover of Tucson; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several
great=great-grandchildren, and a large family. She will be dearly missed and is greatly loved.
