Funeral services for Evelyn Juanita Browning, 88,
of Hornbeck, were held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Hilton, Rev. Buddy Airhart, and Rev. Kenneth Baggs officiating. Burial was in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery.

Browning was born on Wednesday, August 31, 1927 in Provencal. She passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Hornbeck, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Browning; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and
Richard Milstead; parents, John Sullivan Airhart and Alice Lee Airhart; sisters: Othal Walters, Iva Lee Smart, Virginia Hale, and Ruth Curtis; and brother, Billy Airhart.
Mrs. Browning was a member of Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church of
Hornbeck and attended Hornbeck High School. She owned and operated a successful sand pit in Pasadena, Texas until her retirement and moved back to Louisiana where she and Junior traveled all over working part-time jobs in construction. She loved
playing dominos with her friends and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, James Browning and wife Robbie of Hornbeck; brother, Ray Airhart and wife Emogene of Hornbeck; grandchildren: Susie Mitchell and husband Mike
of Hornbeck, Jamie Stringer and husband Pat of Hornbeck, Jody Browning and wife Jenni of Hornbeck, Danita Mullins and husband Moon of Houston, Texas, Bo Milstead of Houston, and Cindy Drennen of New Llano; great-grandchildren: Jody & Denise,
Chase & Nicki, Andy & Elyse, Treasure & Orie, Robbie & Stephen, Braley, Gauge, Rilee Browning, Rilee Mullins, and Rusty; great-great-grandchildren: Abby, Hannah, Grace, Granger, Finley, Bailee, and Phalyn; and a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.
Pallbearers: Jody Mitchell, Chase Stringer, Andy Mitchell, Orie Manes, Braley Browning, Gauge Stringer, Rusty Mullins, and Stephen Chapman.
