Willie John Allen was born on September 6, 1970, in Natchitoches to J.W. and Evon Matthews
Allen, and passed away at his residence on March 16, 2016, at the age of 45.
Willie graduated from Pickering High School and upon graduation enlisted in the Louisiana National Guard.
Willie Allen has faithfully served his
community as a Law Enforcement Officer for more than 20 years at both the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Leesville Police Department. Willie worked in various assignments during his career which included Patrol Officer, Motorcycle/Traffic
Officer, Criminal Detective, Narcotics Agent, Patrol Supervisor and most
recently D.A.R.E. Officer.
He was an honorable Police Officer who lived the oath that he took to serve and protect others. Willie would put himself
before others to protect their lives in many situations such a chasing an armed suspect to protect others which ended with Willie being shot, but the suspect was arrested. Another incident involved Willie along with other officers resolving a
situation involving a young, suicidal man armed with a loaded rifle at a local business without anyone being harmed.
Willie accomplished many things and touched many lives during his career. He felt that one of his greatest
accomplishments in his career was graduating the D.A.R.E. Training last August and was excited about making a difference. He took great pride in having the opportunity to have positive interaction with the children and youth in our schools through
the D.A.R.E. Program. Willie Allen will never be forgotten by his fellow Law Enforcement Officers or the community he served.
Willie was a member of The Church House and three years ago was baptized the same day as his
son,
Joshua. Willie had many accomplishments in his career but his greatest success was being a
loving husband, daddy, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
