Funeral services for Homer Moore, 96,
of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec 9th, at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Wayne Squires, Rev. Wallace Palmer and Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell, under the direction of
Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec 8th, at 5:00 PM until 9 PM at the church.
Homer, the son of Charles Ira and Ethel Irwin Moore, was born December 22, 1918, in DeRidder, LA. He passed away
Sunday, December 6th in Leesville.
Homer was a US Army Veteran of World War II; he retired from Cities Service as a Major Maintenance Supervisor after 34 years. Homer was a true inspiration to everybody; he had a passion for Gospel Music,
Gardening and hunting.
He was preceded in death his parents; brothers, Ernest and Burnis Moore; sisters, Viola Sanders and Florence Fontenot; granddaughters, Kimberly Peet and Khristina Dubarb and step-son, Eddie “Tater” Martin.
He is survived by wife, Arlene Moore of Anacoco; son, Home Donald Moore, Jr., of Canton, Ga; daughters, Janice Luton (Bob) of Jackson, Mich., Glenda Crochet (Sam) of Leslie, Ark., Betty Littleton (Murry) of Bakersville, Calif., and Gayle Brandt
(Cliff) of Wylie, Texas; step-daughter, Shirley Rachal (Richard) of Anacoco, La.; sisters, Ada Paris of Gillis, La., Betty Allen and Geneva Broussard both of Lake Charles, La.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren
and five step-grandchildren.
