Funeral services for Jimmie Don Weldon, 74, of
Anacoco, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Old Anacoco Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Wayne Chance and Rev. John Lewing, II officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby
Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and then Thursday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m. until service time in the church.
Jimmie Don, the son of Ira D. and Iris Stewart Weldon, was
born June 23, 1941 in Many. He passed away at his residence in Anacoco, Monday Nov. 10.
Jimmie Don loved to fish and hunt, however his passion is his family especially his grandchildren, “Oh how he loves his grandchildren,” and he would
always make you laugh. He was preceded by his parents; son, Phillip Weldon; and sister Sandra Kay Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances Joann Weldon of Anacoco. Daughters, Cheryl and Jeff O’Neal of Moss Bluff, Monette
Slaughter of Hornbeck and Valarie and Wade Bell of Florien; Grandchildren, Josh Slaughter, Kendra Isgitt, Brady Bell, Landon Bell, David O’Neal, Phillip O’Neal, Michael O’Neal and Timothy O’Neal; 19 Grandchildren.
