Services honoring the life of Gary Don Bridges
will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the West Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Bill Vogt officiating. Burial to follow under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 5,
2015, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Jeane Funeral Service, 100 East Union St., Leesville.
Gary Don Bridges was born on July 29, 1937 to Ted Melvin and Gertrude Camilla Bridges in Ardmore, Okla. He passed away on Nov. 1, 2015, at the age
of 78 in Alexandria. He was a SFC having served in Vietnam and then retired in Leesville, after 21 years of service to his country. He also was employed for the Department of Labor and then worked for Cubic. He was a member of the American Legion
Post 145. Mr. Bridges was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He served as music director in many churches during his military career. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Mr.
Bridges will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Gertrude Bridges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Margaret Bridges of Leesville; sons: Gary Alan and
Dianne Bridges of Minden, James and Marisa Bridges, of Dayton, Ohio, Paul and Beth Mayo of Leesville, and Martin “Cooter” and Heidi Mayo of Anacoco; daughters: Cheryl and Jeff Darley of Atlanta, Ga., Beverly Boyett, of Keithville, and Annette Mayo,
of Leesville; brothers: David, Mike, and Gene Bridges of Okla.; sister: Gale Eschler of Sepulpa, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
